“DRIVE” by Chapell
New York based singer/songwriter Chapell recounts real and raw stories throughout a prolific catalog of genre agnostic songwriting. Storytelling drives both Chapell's writing and his live show. Has has over 1.5 million streams of all times under his belt and counting and fresh off of a wildly successful tour with the Gin Blossoms, Chapell's live show gushes earnestness and charm. Chapell's solo performances are gaining notoriety by the minute - having been invited to play with the likes of Gin Blossoms, Everclear, Lisa Loeb, 38 Special, Bighead Todd, Iron Butterfly, Flock of Seagulls and Jackopearce.
Alan closed out 2021 with a performance on Rob Reinhart wildly influential radio program, Acoustic Café. In Alan Chapell's own words, "More than ever, people want to feel like they genuinely belong to something. It's similar to how you go to church or yoga or whatever you do with a group of people in order to feel a certain thing. For Chapell, “the goal is always to draw inspiration from the collective whether it's during a more intimate solo concert with my entire five-piece band. I want to bring feeling of hope while we have a great time with you!"
CHAPELL Drive is the track on spot on Spotlight blog as Chapell visits us. Drive was released on the March 1, 2022. This and many more singles and album composed and released by Chapell on all major platforms. Chapell continues to amaze his fans and listeners as he provide us with the sauce. He doesn’t want his fans to go a single day without a banger.
He works his mesmerizing magic in his Drive track. “Who’s gonna drive the horse tonight?” soothing rhythms of the finger-plucked acoustic guitar and Chapell’s fascinating vocal work. There’s an introspection and intimacy in his vocal delivery that totally draws me in. In to him. Or in to deeper parts of me. As I keep bopping to it, there is a delightful fluttering of violin. Then soft, muted touches on the piano are sprinkled into the textures. The features of the instrumentation add a quietly dazzling vulnerability and movement, yet the anchoring of the acoustic guitar and the steady percussion beats keep the ambiance rooted in its flavors.
